Pipedrive at a glance
- Starting price
- About $14/seat/mo billed annually
- Free plan
- No

Pros and cons
What works
- Lite at about $14 a seat is one of the cheapest credible entry points in sales CRM
- The pipeline view is the product rather than a feature, which makes it fast to actually use daily
- Annual billing saves between 20 and 42 percent depending on tier, a large gap that is worth taking
- The plan structure is genuinely tiered by capability rather than by contact count
What does not
- No free tier at all, unlike HubSpot and Freshsales which both have one
- The July 2025 rename means most published comparisons describe plans that no longer exist
- Add-ons sit outside the plan price, so the quoted seat cost is rarely the final bill
- Monthly billing runs from about $24 to $99, a steep premium over the annual rate
Start with the naming, because it will confuse you#
July 2025
When every plan name changed
Most published comparisons still use the retired names.
If you have been reading about Pipedrive Essential, Advanced, or Professional, those plans are gone.
| Old name | Now |
|---|---|
| Essential | Lite, about $14 |
| Advanced | Growth, about $39 |
| Professional and Power | Premium, about $49 |
| Enterprise | Ultimate, about $79 |
Professional and Power were merged into one tier. So a comparison written in 2024 is not just using old labels; it is describing a structure that no longer maps.
That is worth knowing before you compare prices from any source, including the ones that rank well for this.
What it is good at#
The pipeline. That is genuinely the product rather than one screen inside it.
Deals move across stages by drag. The view you open every morning is the view you work from. There is very little to learn, which matters more than it sounds when the whole team has to actually use it.
Compared with HubSpot, it is narrower and less cluttered. Compared with a spreadsheet, it is a different category.
What it costs, properly#
| Plan | Annually | Monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Lite | About $14/seat | About $24 |
| Growth | About $39/seat | — |
| Premium | About $49/seat | — |
| Ultimate | About $79/seat | About $99 |
Add-ons sit outside the plan price. The quoted seat cost is rarely the final bill once you add the extras a sales team tends to want. Price the add-ons before you compare against anything.
The gap against its rivals#
No free tier. That is the clearest structural difference.
HubSpot covers 1,000 contacts and two users at zero. Freshsales has a free plan for up to three users and paid seats from about $9.
So for a two-person operation testing whether a CRM helps at all, Pipedrive is the one that asks for money first. Once you are past that point, Lite at about $14 is competitive.
Where it fits against the others#
Against HubSpot: Pipedrive is a sales tool. HubSpot is a sales and marketing platform. If you do not need marketing automation, HubSpot is a lot of product you are navigating around.
Against Freshsales: closer fight. Freshsales is cheaper at entry and has a free tier. Pipedrive has the better pipeline interface. Both are covered in best AI sales and CRM tools.
Against Salesforce: different universes on price and complexity. That comparison is in Pipedrive vs Salesforce.
The verdict#
Worth it if you want a pipeline tool that people will actually use, you are committing annually, and you do not need marketing tooling in the same product.
Not worth it if you want to start free. Two credible rivals let you, and testing whether a CRM changes anything is worth doing before paying for one.
Pipedrive pricing
| Plan | Price | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | About $14per seat / month, billed annually | Core pipeline, deals, contacts, email integration | A small sales team wanting a working pipeline and nothing more |
| Growth | About $39per seat / month, billed annually | Automation, deeper customisation, richer reporting | A team that has outgrown a basic pipeline |
| Premium | About $49per seat / month, billed annually | The former Professional and Power tiers combined | Teams needing forecasting and process control |
| Ultimate | About $79per seat / month, billed annually | Full administration, security, and support | Larger sales organisations with governance requirements |

Who Pipedrive is for
Buy it if
- Your sales process is a pipeline and you want software that treats it as one
- You want a low entry price per seat and are willing to commit annually
- You have outgrown a spreadsheet but do not need marketing tooling attached
Skip it if
- You want to start free, since Pipedrive has no free tier and rivals do
- You need marketing automation in the same product, where HubSpot is a better shape
- You bill monthly, because the monthly premium is steep on every tier
Frequently asked questions
- How much does Pipedrive cost?
- Lite is about $14 per seat a month billed annually, Growth $39, Premium $49, and Ultimate $79. Billed monthly those run roughly $24 to $99. Annual billing saves between 20 and 42 percent depending on tier, which is a larger gap than most CRMs charge.
- What happened to the Essential and Advanced plans?
- Pipedrive retired those names in July 2025. Essential became Lite, Advanced became Growth, Professional and Power merged into Premium, and Enterprise became Ultimate. Most published comparisons still describe the old lineup, which is why prices you find elsewhere may not match what you see.
- Does Pipedrive have a free plan?
- No. There is a trial but no permanent free tier. That is a real difference against HubSpot, which covers 1,000 contacts and two users free, and Freshsales, which has a free plan for up to three users.
- Is Pipedrive better than HubSpot?
- Better if you want a pipeline tool and nothing else, because it is cheaper and less cluttered. Worse if you want marketing and sales in one system, which is what HubSpot is built around. They are different shapes rather than different quality levels.

He checks every figure against the vendor's own page, cross-references independent trackers, and states plainly when they disagree rather than picking whichever number reads best. He does not claim to have run these tools in production, and the reviews say so at the top of every page.
